Initiating change in education requires strong leadership and a passion for serving others. Khalique Rogers is a proven advocate for saying Good Riddance to outdated teaching models and bringing unique perspectives that help students learn. Khalique’s newest teaching model We Roll the Dice involves putting yourself in someone else’s shoes to help make stronger teacher-student connections. And Khalique is taking this new approach across the nation in various forums.

We Roll the Dice utilizes game-playing for students to help them better understand wealth while increasing awareness of the challenges associated with structural racism. It also helps students learn to think more critically about issues like mental health. The principle is to educate students on challenges and inspire them to change the rules for more equity within their communities. Khalique has taken this innovative model to new heights, including:

• Sharing the teaching principles with other young leaders through the Harvard Young Leaders, which is on a mission to develop young global leaders that empower youth to be problem-solvers, change-makers, and make the world a better place;
• Speaking at the National Youth Leadership Council on service-learning by redefining the role of young people in society; and
• Keynote speaker at Saint Paul College’s Professional Development Day.

As a leader who strives daily to ensure his intentions meet his impact, Khalique actively changes the rules as he has put forward the recently-approved House File 1310 with the Minnesota Legislature to provide funding for a new Youthbuild program. Highly inspiring and passionate about helping others, Khalique Rogers is making his mark on his mission to initiate numerous significant changes in the education arena both locally in the Saint Paul area and around the US.
