United States Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN) visited Saint Paul College on Friday, February 10 to promote The American Apprenticeship Act and its ability to provide tuition assistance funding for states to support apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs.

The bi-partisan American Apprenticeship Act was created with the goal of providing job training opportunities, as well as promoting apprenticeships as viable 职业生涯 paths for individuals who may not have had access to higher education or traditional job training pathways in the past. It seeks to bridge the skills gap between employers and job seekers by providing resources that can help prepare people for jobs in high-demand fields such as 健康care, 信息技术, 和制造业.

Langhorne encouraged students to apply fields with apprenticeship programs, citing workforce opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

"It’s a 职业生涯, and it’s a skill and a trade that I’ll always have. Once I learn it, I can’t lose it," said Langhorne. "I’m going to go as far as I can in the trades."
