Saint Paul College President Deidra Peaslee announced today that Greg Rathert has been named the college’s new vice president for academic and student affairs, effective immediately. Rathert has served in the interim position at Saint Paul College since July 2021.

“I admire Greg’s commitment to Saint Paul College,” said Peaslee. “He has served in his current position as an interim VPSA with diligence and compassion. He has taken every situation, comment, and question seriously and made decisions based on what is best for the college, staff, faculty, and most importantly, our students."

Throughout his career, Rathert has a clear track record of being a collaborative, thoughtful, and capacity-building leader. Prior to his role at Saint Paul College, he served as the System Director of P20 and College Readiness at the Minnesota State system office, focusing on leading the strategic initiatives and innovative practices in developmental education, dual enrollment, and course placement.

"I am so thankful and excited to have this opportunity,” said Rathert. Reflecting on the transition from his interim role, he added, “I have been struck by how Saint Paul College has rallied around the experiences and success of our students. It’s a story of resilience and hope, and I’m truly excited to be part of that story moving forward.”

Rathert is no stranger to the community colleges in Minnesota, having served in progressively responsible positions at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, including four years as Dean of Arts & Letters (2014-2018).

The Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs is a new position at Saint Paul College and represents an organizational alignment of the college’s vision to be a student-ready institution with learner-driven instruction.
